An ad for the Dari-Kool Bulk Milk Cooler from the February 1955 issue of "Successful Farming".
"Dari-Kool Bulk Milk Cooler - The Cooler That Leads Them All!"
William Tschudy, a dairy farmer from Monroe, WI, is quoted as saying, "By saving a minimum of 13 cents cwt. on milk volume and butterfat, which I formerly lost through milk can stickage and spillage, I figure my Dari-Kool has already paid for itself in less than 3 years of operation."
"Eliminates milk cans and can handling."
"Also available in 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 700 gallon sizes."
The model shown in the ad is Model DKS-250 (250 gallons).
"Cuts work and handling costs."
"Improves milk quality."
"Milk is cooled to well below 40 degrees in less than one hour, assuring a lower bacteria count and better milk. It is impossible to freeze milk in a Dari-Kool because the coolant is ice water."
"Dari-Kool tanks are easy to clean and may be sanitized with hot water without damage. Units arrive ready to operate - nothing else to buy or maintain. Get the cooler that leads in sales - leads in value - leads in performance!"
"Dari-Kool meets all 3-A sanitary standards: from cow - to Dari-Kool - to tanker."
"Send coupon for this new, free catalog!"

Description
An account of the resource
"Brooklyn, Wis. -- In March 1989, Susan Waterman, 42, decided she was tired of toxic chemicals, radioactivity and the pressure of her positions in the botany and plant pathology departments at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
"So she resigned to raise Angora goats full time. A year later, she has no regrets.
"Waterman, 42, actually had her Angora goat operations under way before she dove into it full time. When she and her husband, Clark, purchased a 25-acre farm in Green County four years ago, they brought with them a few goats they had raised on a small farm on the south edge of Madison. Their herd has expanded to 54 animals, including 30 does, or breeding females.
"'Getting into this on a full-time basis was a long-established goal -- the only question was when,' Waterman said. 'The opportunity and timing were pretty good a year ago, based on Clark's business.' Clark Waterman makes stained-glass pieces on a commission basis, mostly for residential and corporate clients in Chicago. His business is known as Glass Images."

Haystacks by Automation
Monroe, Wisconsin: "Louis Waelti of Monroe makes instant haystacks with a machine that reduces haying to a one-man operation. Cut hay is blown into a wagon and compressed into layers by a hydraulically-operated top section. Cut hay is blown into a wagon and compressed into layers by a hydraulically-operated top section. When the wagon is full, a haystack equal to approximately 115 bales of hay is ejected. By the end of the season, Waelti hopes to have about 150 stacks for the 100 cows he keeps on his farm. He said the livestock will eat directly from the stacks...with an electric fence around each stack to prevent the livestock trampling the feed in a rush."
